Tennis star Leander Paes signs two films

A foray into acting

It was time for Tennis’ ace star to finally take the plunge. Leander Paes has given thumbs-up to two projects. Tennis to films, the Bollywood lure is hard to resist.

The 37-year-old player has signed director Ashok Kohli’s film Rajdhani Express and what interested him in the film is the chance to play a common man. While talking to a daily, Leander says that he’s looking for something that will connect him to the people and doing movies is one such opportunity. About his other film, he chose not to say much.

This is not the first time that Leander is offered a film. The player confesses that he was approached first as far back as 1996 but he wasn’t ready at that time. The man was previously linked to actress Mahima Chowdhury and later married Sanjay Dutt’s ex-wife Rhea Pillai. Now he is a happy family man with a lovely daughter.

Let’s see what he brings on to the silver screen after doing wonders on the court.
