Abhishek Bachchan plays the lead character of Master da Surya Sen while Deepika Padukone is one of the revolutionaries who helps him to defeat the British invaders and get hold of Chittagong armoury.
According to Ashutosh Gowariker, the most interesting fact for him was that 59 of the 64 revolutionaries involved in this famous 1930 uprising were teenagers. “They were ready to give up their life for the country. It was the driving force for me during the making of KHJJS.”
Entirely shot in Goa, the movie’s look is simple and authentic. Ashutosh said during the launch of first promo that he hasn’t tried to create his own version of the event in KHJJS; which, however, was not the case with his periodic film Lagaan. Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey is based on Manini Chatterjee’s book ‘Do And Die’.
