An Indian wedding is incomplete unless the sister of the bride steals the groom’s shoes and demands money in return.
Vivek Oberoi was faced with a similar situation at his wedding to Priyanka Alva on Friday night in Bangalore. From what we hear, Vivek’s sister-in-law was quick to nick away his shoes at the mandap. As is the custom, she demanded a hefty sum of Rs. 25 lakh in return for the shoes.
Now, Vivek was in a fix. He wasn’t even carrying that much money. He tried to bargain and, after much teasing and joshing, the sis-in-law settled for a lesser amount.
Eventually Vivek did get back his shoes, but not before shelling out a hefty sum of money.
