Monikangana was at the peak of her modelling career and didn’t want to give it up for the sake of a film. She was having the time of her life, travelling around the world for her modelling assignments.

“I didn't want to get involved into movie because I was so involved with my dreamland, my fantasy world, which is modelling. Even when I got plum offers for movies before Guzaarish, I didn't say yes because I was never in India, I was travelling across the world,” Monikangana is quoted as saying by a news agency.

So what was it that made her sign Guzaarish?

“I signed Guzaarish because it was a Sanjay Leela Bhansali movie. I was shocked when he called me himself and the other shock was when he offered me the movie. I readily agreed,” Moni said.

Not the one to take half measures, Moni learnt acting from Anupam Kher’s school (Actor Prepares) before beginning to shoot for Guzaarish.

The movie has Moni playing Estella, a married woman who shares a past with the film’s paraplegic protagonist played by Hrithik Roshan. The film will release on November 19.
