'Action Replayy' goes to Oscar library
His latest film Action Replayy may have been panned by critics and not really setting the cash registers ringing at box office as well but director Vipul Amrutlal Shah now has a reason to smile.

For the Library of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences (Oscars) has sent an invitation to include the film’s screenplay in its huge collection. The screenplay, written by Shah and Aatish Kapadia will find a place in the Margaret Herrick library of the Academy. It will be available to the students of cinema and filmmakers for research and study purposes.

The movie stars Akshay Kumar, Aishwarya Rai and Aditya Roy Kapoor and tells the story of a guy who goes into the past to change the acrimonious wedlock of his parents into a love marriage.

Shah says that invitation from the Oscar library is “redemption of sorts” after the severely critical reviews the film got. He also takes a swipe at critics by saying that the invitation shows how critics in India are far removed from grasping the real content of cinema.
