'Game' intrigued me: Abhishek Bachchan

We have seen Abhishek Bachchan playing many a role. An uptight cop, a visionary, a revolutionary, a con man, and a naxalite. Having worked in films of different genres, Abhishek still had one type of genre on his wishlist - a murder mystery.

That wish was fulfilled with director Abhinay Deo’s Game, starring Sarah Jane Dias and Kangana Ranaut in female leads. Slated to release this Friday, the movie has Abhishek playing a wealthy casino owner.

“It is actually the genre of the film 'Game' that attracted me - the genre is one of my favourites to watch - a murder mystery, the whodunit! And I hadn't done one yet. I was very intrigued about doing it, and very happy to do it,” Abhishek told a news agency.

Abhishek added that the secret of growth for any actor is to do variety of roles and genres. Doing the same thing over and again - as some of the big stars in Bollywood do - stops the growth, Abhi opines.

“It doesn't make sense to keep doing the same thing and then stagnate. So I think it is very important to keep yourself motivated. And as I said, I have high standards. I want to be performing at a level which I think I haven't achieved it,” Abhishek said.

Abhishek has already tasted success as a producer with Paa. Now, he’s producing the second film Bbuddah for AB Corp. The film stars his dad Amitabh Bachchan.

“Well, we started the schedule of my second production 'Bbuddah - Hoga Terra Baap' about two weeks ago. The shooting should be finished by the end of next month. Of course we are hoping good things happen to it too,” Abhishek said.
