Salman Khan has mastered the art of marketing his films, so much so that it is not just the audience who are eagerly waiting for his upcoming movie Ready, but also the actors and producers of other films.
Why you might ask? Well Ready has managed to generate a lot of buzz, and it is undoubtedly the biggest release of the year so far. Now, every upcoming film wants to cash in on the buzz by launching the trailer for their film with Ready.
Director Anees Bazmee reveals that as many as 12 films want to release their promos with Ready. Top on the list is the Salman Khan produced Chillar Party, and there is Ajay Devgn's forthcoming film Singham.
"There are 8-10 trailers waiting to be attached to Ready. These include Chillar Party, in which Salman is a producer and two films of my producers. Ready will be the first big release post-IPL. Naturally there are trailers that want to cash in on my film's visibility," reveals Anees Bazmee to a leading daily.
Anees further discloses that this ask of including 10 promos with Ready is not an easy as the running time of the movie is already quite long and so he can only accommodate 2-3 trailers.
We hear of a rift between the Anees, and Salman Khan and the producers of Ready on this matter as the director does not want to make any compromises to the ‘Ready’ experience.
Bazmee adds, "my film is 2 hours 24 minutes long. That is already longer than what multiplex cinemas want. At the most we can attach 2-3 trailers. Anything beyond that would be a huge demand on my film's playing-time."
All we have to say is that watching the trailers is as much a part of the movie going experience as the movie itself. So bring them on!! We are sure the audience will not mind spending the extra 10 minutes in their seats to get a sneak peek of their favourite stars in their newest avatars.
