Kavya Madhavan’s marriage with techie hubby is annulled
Malayalam actress Kavya Madhavan’s two-year long marriage to the techie Nischal Chandra has been annulled by an Ernakulam Family Court.

The marriage between Kavya Madhavan has been on the rocks since a few months after the wedding in 2009, but it was in October last year that the duo finally decide to split. In fact, Kavya had even filed a petition under the Domestic Violence Act against her husband and in-laws.

But last week, Kavya and her husband reached an agreement that paved the way for the annulment of the marriage. Kavya will also withdraw her petition.

A lot of negotiations went into reaching the settlement, and both sides seem happy with the verdict.

It must be noted that an annulment is not the same as divorce. An annulment is retroactive and it renders the marriage null or void, as if it hadn’t taken place.

Kavya and Nischal, a computer engineer, got married in February 2009. But just a few months after the wedding the news of constant feud between the couple appeared. Kavya, too, admitted that not all was well in her marriage.

Kavya has been active in Malayalam cinema since 1996. She has acted in scores of films since then.
