Baba Ramdev is making the headlines nowadays with his controversy ridden campaign against the Indian black money stashed away in foreign banks. A Bollywood filmmaker has now been inspired to make a film on the yoga guru.

Filmmaker Mani Shankar, who looks up to Baba Ramdev, wants to make the film with Sanjay Dutt. Though it’s not clear if Dutt will indeed play the saffron-clad yoga guru, Shankar says Dutt “exudes purity” to play the Baba.

Shankar has been inspired by Baba Ramdev’s crusade against black money, which also found mention in Shankar’s last film Knock Out, doesn’t matter if the film was a copy of the Hollywood movie Phone Booth. The director says he now wants to make a film on the theme of black money from Baba Ramdev’s perspective.

It will also include the June 5 incident when Baba’s camp at Ramlila Grounds was cut short by the police, sparking outrage from political and social groups.

However, it remains to be seen how Baba Ramdev’s followers take to the news of Sanjay Dutt -- no stranger to controversies -- playing their beloved yoga guru. Perhaps a little consolation can be the amazing co-incidence that Dutt’s friends also call him Sanju Baba.
