Aishwarya Rai is expecting a baby and the Bachchans understandably are in the seventh heaven. As the Bachchan family tree extends, we at ApunKaChoice take a look at where the new bundle of joy be placed in the tree.
It’s a family that goes back to Harivansh Rai Bachchan, the renowned Hindi poet whose Madhushala is still among the best poetic works in Hindi language. To Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan were born two children -- Amitabh Bachchan and Ajitabh Bachchan.
Ajitabh, Amitabh’s brother, has four children -- Nilima, Namrata, Naina and Bhim -- and none of them is married yet.
Amitabh Bachchan, as we know, has two children, Shweta Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. Shweta is married and has two children: Navya and Agastya.
Abhishek Bachchan is married to Aishwarya Rai and the couple are now expecting their kid by the end of 2011 or early 2012.
Since Ajitabh Bachchan’s children aren’t married yet, Abhishek’s baby will carry the Bachchan family tree into the fourth generation.
“And now cometh the progeny of my son that shall bear the surname Bachchan - the first in this generation…” Amitabh Bachchan has himself expressed.
