I hope Aishwarya and Abhishek make a whole football team: Salman Khan

As the news of Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy spread around and Bollywood celebs congratulated the Bachchans, everyone was eager to know how would Salman Khan react to the news.

At the launch event of Blackberry Playbook, when Salman was asked about his reaction on the news of Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy, Salman said: “I would like to congratulate Mr. Bachchan that he is going to become a grandfather and also Abhishek and Aishwarya. I hope they make a whole football team.”

Well, Salman could have easily avoided the question by replying ‘no comments’ but he rather chose to warmly congratulate Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai. His gag about the couple making a football team of kids clearly proves that Salman has no hard feelings against the Bachchans.

Going back in time, Salman started dating Aishwarya Rai in 1999. Their romance was always under the media eye. The couple called off their relationship in the year 2001. Six years later, Aishwarya became the Bachchan bahu by marrying Abhishek Bachchan.

Post break-up, Salman and Aishwarya have never worked together. They avoid coming face to face and haven’t exchanged as much as a word. However, Amitabh Bachchan and Sallu, other than sharing a good rapport, have shared screen space in Baghban and God Tussi Great Ho.
