His first attempt at direction and last gasp effort for the resuscitation of his acting career, namely Pyar Impossible, having squarely tanked at the box office, the Chopra scion, Uday Chopra, has finally admitted the fate of his acting career and decided to throw in the towel.
Yes, Uday Chopra, who debuted with Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbattein and remained in public memory because of his slaphappy character Ali Akbar Fateh in Dhoom and Dhoom 2, has declared that he is quitting acting.
He is the second actor from Bollywood to have announced an early retirement recently. Just a few days back, Shilpa Shetty’s younger sister Shamita Shetty had announced that she was switching to interior decoration.
Uday, despite the backing of Yashraj Films, never really cemented his place in the industry. He tried his hand at direction in Pyaar Impossible but that too failed.
Dhoom 3 will be Uday’s last film as an actor. It will have him reprising the role of Ali. Well, given the fact that the film has Aamir Khan as the antagonist, Uday seems set to bow out with a bang and not a whimper.
