In Shivgad, a small village on the border of Maharashtra and Goa, inspector Bajirao Singham (Ajay Devgan), fights against injustice, prejudice and corruption using his own brand of ethics and justice.
When Kavya (Kajal Aggarwal) comes from Goa to visit her grandparents she is charmed by Bajirao’s bold and courageous demeanour.
Destiny sets up the plucky police officer against the tremendously powerful criminal cum politician Jaykant Shikre (Prakash Raj).
Jaykant’s manipulations ensure that Singham is promoted and transferred to Goa. Little did Singham know that while this move will bring him closer to Kavya, it will also trap him into the clutches of Jaykant. Because Goa is the place where Jaykant rules supreme. And Jaykant has vowed to make Singham’s life a living nightmare.
Alone in the enemy territory, Singham must now rise to his toughest challenge, hold on to his principles and destroy his all powerful enemy.
Singham is a remake of the Tamil blockbuster ‘Singam’ from 2010, starring Suriya in the lead role. Since the role demanded a brawnier physique for the hero, Devgan worked on his body before the shoot of Singham.
In the words of the movie’s makers, Singham aims at showcasing “earthy action” with elements of heroism, machoism, idolism and valor.
