Kim Kardashian’s marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries is dubbed as America's answer to the Royal Wedding of Prince Williams and Kate Middleton in England. But what came as a real shock are the reports on Kim Kardashian’s wedding gown which is said to be inspired by the gown that Pippa Middleton wore for her sister Kate Middleton’s wedding in April 2011.

The much-publicized American wedding of the year of the 30-year-old socialite and show-host Kim Kardashian with NBA player Kris Humphries on 20th August continues to be the centre of buzz for various reasons. Already, Kim and the whole Kardashian clan have been named as “copycats” for taking inspirations from the nuptials between Prince William and Kate Middleton. And now it is said that Kim Kardashian wore a gown that was similar to that of Pippa.

Kim walked down the aisle in a custom Vera Wang ball gown looking like an “Armenian Princess”. She even wore a diamond-encrusted headpiece which made her look so different from other celeb brides. However, the silhouette of the wedding gown which featured a full tulle skirt and hand-pieced Chantilly lace appliqué was similar to the iconic Alexander McQueen frock worn by 27-year-old Pippa Middleton for her sister’s wedding.

But there was a difference, as Kim went for not one but three gowns for her fairytale wedding. For the reception, Kim changed into not one, but two more custom-made Vera gowns - each of which is rumored to have cost $20,000.

It was a lavish $10 million wedding for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, while the couple is likely to earn $17.9 million in gifts and kind. People magazine bagged the exclusive photo rights of the celebrity wedding for a ‘mere’ $2.5 million, according to the New York Post.

And the couple reportedly spent almost nothing on the wedding; they stand to earn anything between $12 to $15 million from a four-hour, two-part TV special by E!. It’s called Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event.
