Mahesh Babu’s much-hyped Telugu film Dookudu will finally see the light of the day on September 23, and is going to release in a record number of theatres all over the world. Directed by Srinu Vytala, who has delivered consistent hits at the box office, Dookudu is expected to mark a stupendous opening.
However, the release date of the film was not confirmed as late as this Tuesday, because it was waiting for a U/A certificate. The Censor Board didn’t clear the movie till 10 pm at night. Dookudu was passed by the board after a few cuts.
Dookudu has fetched its producers a whopping Rs. 38 crore even before its release, claim reports. It’s really a big amount for a Telugu film.
Mahesh Babu is returning to silver screen after a hiatus, and thousands of his fans can’t wait for Dookudu. In the film he is romancing newbie Samantha Ruth Prabhu. The music of the film is by Thaman.
Meanwhile, buzz is that Ajith is set to remake Dookudu in Tamil. A special screening of the movie was held in Chennai for Ajith, whose recent release Mankatha has become a superhit at the BO. It is learnt, Ajith is highly impressed with the film.
And we won’t be surprised that after the movie’s release, Bollywood producers, too, line up for the remake rights. Earlier Mahesh Babu’s Pokiri was remade as Wanted starring Salman Khan. Like Pokiri, the Hindi movie Wanted was also a smashing hit. |
