John Abraham’s new release Force is off to a good start at box office. The response is better at single screen theatres than multiplexes.
Directed by Nishikant Kamat, the movie opened to an impressive 75 to 90 percent response at single screen theatres. Multiplexes, however, saw fewer footfalls, yet the occupancy ranged between 40 to 50 percent, which is fair enough, as the collections are expected to rise further on Saturday and Sunday.
Force has got mixed reviews from the critics, but the hardcore action in the film is pulling in the crowds, once again proving right the notion that action flicks work at box office.
Among the other four releases, only Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster managed to attract the viewers. The response on Friday was between 20 to 25 percent and the film has got very good reviews. On the other hand, Hum Tum Shabana, directed by Sagar Ballary, has been panned by almost everyone. The film saw a very bleak response on its opening day.
Meanwhile, the last week’s release Mausam has been seeing a continual dip in its collections. Though the film opened on a promising note, its first week collection is just Rs. 28 crore. The film is a flop.
