Ranbir’s Rockstar clashes with Freida Pinto’s Immortals

Ranbir Kapoor faces competition from Freida Pinto
Looks like Ranbir Kapoor’s much anticipated film Rockstar won’t have an undisputed run at theatres. For competing with the movie will be Freida Pinto’s new film Immortals, directed by Tarsem Singh.

Rockstar is slated to release on November 11. Though no other Bollywood film is releasing on the same day, the competition would come from an unexpected quarter. Freida Pinto may not be a great draw in India, but Immortals, which will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, will try to pull a bit of crowd away from Imtiaz Ali’s film.

Starring Freida with Henry Cavill, Immortals will release in 600 cinemas. On the other hand, Rockstar will release worldwide with over 2000 prints.

Moreover, the content of both the films is as different as chalk and cheese. Rockstar is a contemporary love story about a musician who falls in love to get his heart broken so that he can channel that pain in his music. Immortals, however, is a Greek epic about Olympian Gods and Titans.
