Seems like the Hindi film industry and the media aren’t gelling too well these days! After Shahrukh Khan and Shahid Kapoor, Ram Gopal Varma is the latest addition to the list of Bollywood personalities who have recently expressed their grouse against the fourth estate.
There was a report published in a tabloid that suggested that some scenes from Department, featuring Sanjay Dutt, needed to be reshot since there were some technical flaws on part of the cinematographer!
Ram Gopal Varma was not too amused reading the report and retorted on twitter: “Nd the report on the cinematographers screw up is another hogwash cos Department is being shot without a Dop and with a completely new technology.”
Not only this, Ramu rudely added: “And my advice to that dumb nitwit journo is to atleast ask me or sanjay or sapan for whatever we have to say b4 writing.”
Recently, Shahrukh Khan, too, was unhappy with the way media had misquoted him. He had said in an interview with Filmfare magazine: “Some press guy asked me, ‘What do you wish for Salman Khan?’ I replied, ‘I wish him well.’ Next day I see headlines saying ‘SRK is offering the olive branch.’ If someone is unwell what should I say? That he doesn’t get well?”
Shahid Kapoor had also expressed his discontentment with the media reports which suggested that he was caught kissing Anushka Sharma at a bash thrown by Imran Khan. He also chose twitter as the medium to communicate his annoyance with the media: “Extremely distasteful story today ...some journalists need to really understand where to draw the line between imagination and Reality . Sad . Unfair . Makes me angry….If nothing else they need to respect the dignity of a girl !!!!!”
We just hope that harmony prevails between the media and Bollywood! None of us can do without each other.
