This is surely the greatest moment of her life, and her family is doing every bit to make her feel special. Aishwarya Rai recently had a second godh bharai conducted by her mother Vrinda Rai at a Bandra hotel in a traditional Mangalorean Bunt style. But the event not only had just female guests; males, too, were invited.
As per reports, according to Mangalorean tradition, a mother hosts a godh bharai for her daughter, known as baike at her home. Vrinda Rai took special care of the entire event and kept it simple. So from decoration to delicacies everything was typically South Indian. Though the event was a very private affair, apart from the Bachchans and the Rais, Aishwarya’s favourite directors Mani Ratnam, Ashutosh Gowariker and Sanjay Leela Bhansali were also part of the event.
Mani Ratnam came along with his wife Suhasini, while Sanjay Leela Bhansali marched in alone. Aishwarya Rai, who is eight months pregnant, had her first baby shower on Tuesday, October 18, last week at the Bachchan household Jalsa. The baby shower was hosted by Aishwarya’s dear saasJaya Bachchan and was attended by a host of Bollywood ladies including Bipasha Basu and Sonali Bendre.
