The ApunKaChoice movie review of Tell Me O Kkhuda. If Tell Me O Kkhuda is Esha Deol’s comeback vehicle, then we are sorry to say but the vehicle is punctured! The movie fails to impress whatsoever! Read on to know why.
Tell Me O Kkhuda is a story about Tanya (Esha Deol), who is leading a perfect life, with a successful career (how she wishes that for her off-screen life as well) as a novelist and a wonderful boyfriend in the face of Arjan Bajwa. But a perfect and blissful life can never be a script of a movie; there have to be some twists, turns and drama! Tanya is shattered when she discovers that she is an adopted kid! Thus begins her search for her biological parents! And thus begins the onslaught of boredom for the audiences!
When she learns that she was rescued from a fire accident and adopted by the same officer who saved her from that fire, Tanya lands up in a troubled and shocked spot! She then visits the Bombay Hospital where she gets further clues as to who her real father is. Johnny Lever, a clerk at the hospital, who is always ready to help her with the parents-hunting task, provides her with a new name every time the previous attempt fails!
It is then that Tanya’s parents’ scouting takes her to various places. From Rajasthan, to Turkey, to Goa, Tanya visits all the places to search for her parents. Her friends (Arjan Bajwa, Chandan Roy Sanyal), too, accompany her! How idle can one be?
Anyhow, Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor and Dharmendra, all feature as the probable candidates in Esha’s probable father list! Though we know who her real father is, we would leave something for you also to watch Tell Me O Kkhuda for (just in case, you end up watching it, somehow).
Coming to the direction of the film, the dream girl Hema Malini has given us a nightmare! Only if Hema had the required skills of directing a movie, the story had some scope in it! The movie looks dull and slow, with some scenes unnecessary scenes stretched like a chewing gum, and some important scenes finishing with a bubble-burst, it clearly shows Hema needs some rethinking about her decision to don the director’s hat! Her special appearance in the movie absolutely won our hearts though!
Now, let’s talk about the thing that matters a lot for any movie: the performance by the cast. Esha Deol does a satisfactory job as Tanya. Though one might argue that she has not given an exceptional performance, she isn’t that bad either! Some scenes in the movie force you to think she deserved a better direction and a better story for her comeback vehicle! Arjan Bajwa gives us a fine performance, too! However, the movie hardly focuses on him and Fashion is still his best work till date. Also, the romance and chemistry between Esha and Arjan was far from being noticed! And, needless to say, considering the vast amount of experience they have, Dharmendra, Rishi Kapoor and Vinod Khanna can never put a foot wrong. They were a delight to watch! Deepti Naval and Farooq Sheikh were impressive too! Here, we have to mention that Johny Lever has done complete justice to his role and it is just because of him that you have a few rare laughs while watching the movie.
The music of Tell Me O Kkhuda should have been better! No song in the album is impressive enough! The background score, too, is just kind of ok!
Overall, watch Tell Me Oh Khudda only of you are a diehard fan of Salman Khan and can swallow some hours of boredom and be satisfied that you nevertheless saw Salman Khan on the big screen for five minutes.
