By now you all know that it’s not Shahrukh Khan but Ranbir Kapoor who will essay the role of lover boy studying MBA in the upcoming romantic comedy 2 States.

After rocking the nation with his brilliant performance in Rockstar, Ranbir is gearing up for 2 States to be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. And the actor is rooting for his favourite director to helm the project.

Yes, it seems the Kapoor lad can’t wait to work with Imtiaz Ali again. If reports are to be believed, then Imtiaz Ali may be directing 2 States, inspired from Chetan Bhagat’s popular novel 2 States: The Story of My Marriage, which was to be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj earlier. As Vishal couldn’t do the project because of the reasons unknown, Ranbir is insisting to producer Sajid Nadiadwala to take Imtiaz Ali as the director for the film.

Ranbir is highly impressed with Imtiaz’s direction and after working with him in Rockstar he can’t think of anyone else than Imtiaz to do 2 States.

Written by Chetan Bhagat, the novel, 2 States: The Story of My Marriage, is the story about a couple coming from two different states of India, who face hardships in convincing their parents for approval of their marriage. If the boy is from Delhi, the girl is from Tamil Nadu. How the sangam between the north and south happens forms the storyline.
