Dhanush’s new track ‘Why This Kolaveri Di’ a huge hit!
Is it the Dhanush effect? The talented and the versatile actor Dhanush became a singer for a song and as soon as it was made public nothing could stop the track from becoming a rage. Why This Kolaveri Di, sung by the actor, is from his upcoming film (3) and has received tremendous response from the music buffs.

Aishwarya Dhanush, Rajinikanth’s daughter and Dhanush’s wife is directing ‘3’ and is super thrilled to see the kind of response song is garnering. The proud wife even tweeted on Friday, “The song has been climbing steadily since then.. 1,02,000 views in one day on YouTube..#Whythiskolaveridi...:):).”

Though the whole soundtrack is yet to release, this single track was revealed earlier because it was leaked online. Dhanush also clarified that the song that was leaked was only two per cent of the original song. The young music director Anirudh who is composing the tracks for the film, worked on it again and finally it was released as a solo number a few days back.

The peppy tune of the song which is light on music is infectious because of its simple lyrics in both English and Tamil. Why This Kolaveri Di, which means ‘Why this killer rage?’ is a romantic track expressing the pain of a love-struck boy. And the USP of the track is definitely Dhanush. The National Award winning actor has also sung some songs in his forthcoming Mayakkam Enna, a movie directed by his brother Selvaraghavan and going to be released next week.

Why This Kolaveri Di is touted as Tamil cinema’s answer to the hit Hindi song Bhaag DK Bose from Delhi Belly which turned out to be a youth anthem.
