Amitabh Bachchan likened the baby girl to Goddess Laxmi.
“We are very happy. Goddess Lakshmi has come to our family and we have brought Lakshmi ratna home. We are happy to have a daughter. This is what Abhishek and Jaya wanted,” a visibly happy Amitabh Bachchan told reporters.
Big B also added that the baby and the mother were doing fine.
“Aishwarya and betiya are well and in good health. Life changes when a new life comes to your house,” Mr. Bachchan said.
Before bringing the daughter to their residence Jalsa, the Beti B was taken to Prateeksha, the Bachchan’s old residence.
“We first went to Prateeksha because that is our first home. After taking blessing from my ma, babuji we have come to Jalsa,” Amitabh said.
Abhishek Bachchan added that the baby was taken to a small temple inside the house.
“We have a small mandir in our house (Prateeksha) build by my grandfather and that was the first place we took her,” Abhishek said.
Abhishek said that the feeling of being a father still has to sink in.
“I'm still getting used to the fact that I'm a father now. It's still sinking in because for me the definition of father is Amitabh Bachchan. I haven't got used to it yet,” Abhishek said.
Amitabh Bachchan praised Aishwarya Rai for deciding to go for a normal delivery than a C-section.
“Aishwarya wanted to have a normal delivery. She was in acute labour for two-three hours and refused to take any pain killers. She acted brave all through,” Amitabh revealed.
When asked about the mother, Abhishek said: “Aishwarya is very happy but a little tired.”
Big B said the baby girl resembles Aishwarya. He also added that he’s bekaar (unemployed) nowadays.
“KBC is over and have no film in hand right now. Main bekaar (unemployed) hoon,” Amitabh told the mediapersons.
“He's in full duty of his granddaughter,” Abhishek quickly chipped in.
