That takes us to what is perhaps one of the most awaited wedding scenes ever. No matter if you enjoy the movie or not, you’ll indubitably love the whole wedding setting and the human-vampire couple taking their vows. The priest didn’t even have to say “You may now kiss the bride” and the two were already all over each other! The passionate kiss was noteworthy!
The newly wedded couple, who spend their honeymoon on a private island in Brazil, consummate their marriage despite Bella still being a human! Nevertheless, watching the love making scene was a bedtaking…err… breathtaking experience!
Things start getting bizarre when Bella gets pregnant. She refuses to get the unborn (assumed monster) aborted and Sam Uley (Chaske Spencer), leader of the werewolf pack, decides to kill Bella and destroy the unborn since he sees it as threat to the wolf clan. Jacob, who is joined by Seth and Leah Clearwater (Julia Jones), however, decides to stand against his clan and protect Bella.
Bella finally delivers a baby girl, Renesmee! After the delivery, Bella’s condition deteriorates and Edward injects his venom inside Bella’s heart so as to breathe life into her! Bella is assumed to be dead! Jacob then decides to kill the baby as he feels she is the one responsible for her (Bella’s) death! However, there is a twist in the tale.
Speaking about the performances of the actors, the trio -- Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner -- as always, make the grade.
The direction, however, lacked conviction! The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1, though has a runtime of just about 2 hours, seemed to take 2 months to finish! The movie is slow and should, undeniably, have had some more exciting punches. The plot had the potential and I just kept waiting to get goosebumped! Sadly, I never did!
The cinematography, too, does not match the high standards the ‘Twilight’ series has set for itself! The background score, too, fails to make an impact!
The only positive that you can take out from this movie as that it ends on a high and we can expect crackers in the subsequent part: The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2.
Nevertheless, though I know it would not matter to you since you are a Twi-Hard (like me) and you’ll in any case watch the movie, we give The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 2.5 stars out of 5.
