Box office report: 'Desi Boys' not everyone’s choice!
'Desi Boyz' stays below the mark at box office

Box office report: 'Desi Boys' not everyone’s choice!
Last Friday’s release Desi Boyz, starring Akshay Kumar and John Abraham as two friends battling economic recession, has stayed below the mark at box office.

The film, also starring Deepika Padukone and Chitrangada Singh, had an extensive release on about 2200 screens but its performance has been average, at best.

The film did a business of Rs. 25 crore over the weekend. Its opening day collection was Rs. 8 crore. The collections did not rise on Saturday and remained at Rs. 8 crore mark only. Sunday saw a slight increase in the business and the collection touched the Rs. 9 crore mark.

The aggregate is less than expected for a film that boasts of top stars of Bollywood. Desi Boyz performed well in selected sectors like Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan only.

Meanwhile, Rockstar continues to attract some crowds to theatres and is expected to touch the Rs. 70 crore mark soon.

The coming Friday would see the release of The Dirty Picture starring Vidya Balan, Emraan Hashmi, Tusshar Kapoor and Naseeruddin Shah.
