Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao name their baby boy Azad Rao Khan
Aamir Khan announced on Facebook that they have chosen to name their son Azad Rao Khan. The couple chose the name Azad on Kiran Rao’s prompting to name their son after Aamir’s great grand uncle Maulana Azad, the great freedom fighter.

In the announcement on Facebook, Aamir wrote, “Hey guys, most excited to share with y'all that we have finally chosen a name for our baby boy... Azad. Azad Rao Khan. I left the final choice to Kiran, and she has named him after my great grand uncle Maulana Azad, the great freedom fighter, whom the family is most proud of. Azad means free or liberated. We want to thank everyone for their warm wishes and blessings, and needless to say we are absolutely overjoyed and feel most blessed. Much love. a.”

Due to medical complications, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao decided to have a baby through IVF-Surrogacy, and they were blessed with a son on the 1st of December. At the time Aamir and Kiran had released a statement saying, “It gives us the greatest joy to share with you the good news of the birth of our baby boy. This baby is especially dear to us because he was born to us after a long wait and some difficulty. Due to medical complications, we were advised to have a baby through IVF - surrogacy, and we feel very grateful to the Almighty that all has gone well.”
