Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl, the new release from Bollywood this week, saw a shaky start at box office on the opening day.
At some centres the film fared as low as 20 percent, while at others the footfalls were about 60 percent. The response to the film is extremely mixed and the business in Mumbai remained below par. The film did a fairly better business in Delhi, but it still needs to pick up considerably on Saturday and Sunday to register a good first weekend. The critics haven’t given rave reviews to the movie, but the performances by Anushka Sharma and Parineeti Chopra have been appreciated.
Meanwhile, Vidya Balan continues to make a killing with her curves. Her latest movie The Dirty Picture is reported to have made half billion rupees (that’s Rs. 50 crores) in its first-week run at theatres. The response to the film has been stupendous and we hear that Vidya Balan has already hiked her acting fee for new projects.
Now, all eyes are fixed on the last big release of 2011: Don 2, starring Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta. The film is slated to release on December 23 and is expected to have a good opening.
