Anushka Sharma is talented but not beautiful!

She knows she can’t “hardsell” (read PR) herself and also that her beauty is not her USP, but what makes Anushka Sharma stand out from the crop of other new generation actresses? It’s not her svelte figure but sheer talent. She has proved her acting mettle with her four releases and wishes to continue her winning streak with her stellar performances.

It’s hard to believe that she is considered talented but not that beautiful. Anushka Sharma did come across such directors before Band Baaja Baaraat who said on her face that they are looking for an actress who is “stunningly beautiful” and that she didn’t look the part. Was she hurt?

While talking to a news magazine, Anushka reveals how the pressure of looking good doesn’t trouble her anymore. Yes, she was speechless when the Yash Chopra new film’s press release said that the film stars Shahrukh Khan with the “very beautiful” Katrina Kaif and the “very talented” Anushka Sharma.

“I didn’t know how to react when I read that. I didn’t know whether I should be happy that I’m talented or be sad that I’m not beautiful. I remember having this conversation with my father. I guess I’ll have to find solace in Adi’s (Aditya Chopra) words who told me, “We chose you because you can act and that beauty is not your USP”.” When compared to Katrina Kaif, Anushka clearly mentions, Katrina is definitely more beautiful.

Anushka Sharma has come a long way in the Bollywood and that’s because of her acting. The rest she knows is always attainable. Her great performances will add to her charisma and hence beauty. The actress also believes that she doesn’t need a PR to survive in this industry. We admire her guts!
