A fighter, she was not the type to sit at home and sulk over her broken marriage. Shipra Khanna, 30, mother of two lovely kids, continues with her unflagging spirit after the big win at MasterChef India 2. The lady has proved her extraordinary culinary skills and now plans to open her own restaurant and will also try popularize the authentic Himachali cuisines.
Last Sunday saw Shipra Khanna preparing food for 100 people and beating another best cook Salma Shazia from Bangalore at the finale to emerge as India’s second MasterChef. The finale had guest judge Akshay Kumar cheering the contestants. Many of you may not be aware that Shipra has decided to share a part of the prize money of Rs 1 crore with special children studying at a school near her hometown Shimla.
Tall and gifted with an attractive face and a gorgeous smile, it was hard for many to believe that Shipra has gone through a very bad phase which left her with a failed marriage, and two kids. After her marriage broke down, Shipra was clueless about her life. But with her parents’ support she tried to move on. And cooking happened by chance; first it was one of her stress-busters, and later it became her passion.
With MasterChef win, Shipra also has an opportunity to host a show on Star Plus which came along as a part of her contract. A vacation for three nights and four days in London is also waiting for her. A graduate from the popular St. Bede’s College Shimla, Shipra, has miles to go. With her gourmand plans she has taken a step towards realizing her dreams.
