Director Puri Jagannath is super excited these days as his high-on-buzz Telugu film Businessman, starring Mahesh Babu, is up for release next week. But before the movie could release, Jagannath reportedly decided to drop Abhishek from the Hindi remake of the film. The project is in the pipeline since August 2011, and now Puri is not keen to have Junior B; instead he is thinking of signing the original hero of the film, the Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu.
Puri tells a tabloid why he took this decision, “After looking at Abhishek’s recent track record, we realised it won’t be in favour of the film. He doesn’t have enough fire that the movie demands. I want to cast Mahesh Babu in the Hindi remake now.”
The maverick director also seems least worried about Mahesh Babu’s halting Hindi. However, reports also have that the filmmaker’s decision comes in the wake of his contractual problems with AB Corp, the co-producer of Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap. Puri himself said that the post-release experience was bad.
Mahesh Babu’s manager has also confirmed the news, but as for now the Telugu star wants to focus on the original.
