The movie, to be directed by Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya has taken the lead over Rana which was put on the backburner following Rajinikanth’s poor health during 2011. In Kochadaiyaan Rajinikanth plays a long-haired king who is a staunch devotee of Lord Shiva.
The film will be made in 3D using the performance capturing technology used by James Cameron in the Hollywood blockbuster Avatar. Kochadaiyaan will have Katrina Kaif in a romantic role opposite Rajinikanth and the duo will also shoot for a love song composed by A R Rahman.
However, Katrina Kaif’s presence in the film is yet to be confirmed. She is presently busy shooting for Yash Chopra’s comeback film with Shahrukh Khan. She’s already shot many portions of Ek Tha Tiger with Salman Khan and also has Dhoom 3 with Aamir Khan for later this year. The question is: will Katrina Kaif be able to winkle out enough dates from her diary to commit to Kochadaiyaan.
For your information, Katrina Kaif has so far worked in two Telugu films (Malliswari and Allari Pidugu) and a Malayalam movie (Balaram Vs Taradas). Kochadaiyaan will be her first Tamil film.
But what would excite the cine fans is the prospect of seeing Rajinikanth and Katrina Kaif together in a film.
