|Freida Pinto has been announced as one of the presenters at the 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards. With this, the Indian actress joins the league of popular Hollywood stars as a Golden Globe presenter.
Freida’s name was announced through a press release by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA). The Golden Globes award organisers also tweeted yesterday. “HFPA announces Freida Pinto as a 69th Annual #GoldenGlobesPresenter.”
Freida will join the biggies like Nicole Kidman, Salma Hayek, Antonio Banderas, Clive Owen and Melissa McCarthy, who all have been announced as presenters at the award ceremony that will be held on January 15, 2012. According to the officials, Freida Pinto, who’ll be walking the red carpet too, is the only one on the list, who has not been nominated in any category.
This is Freida’s second outing as a presenter at the Globes, and this also makes her the only Indian actor to be repeated again for the same. The first time when she presented the award, her film Slumdog Millionaire was in the nominations. On stage, she was accompanied by the Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan.
The president of HFPA welcomed all the stars by saying, “We are thrilled to have these talented individuals join us. Each will bring something very special to this year’s show!”
