'Heroine' is a beautiful love story: Arjun Rampal

We all know that Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine is primarily about the leading lady, that is Kareena Kapoor. But the movie also tells an interesting love story, says Arjun Rampal.

“Bebo is the protagonist of the film and she has a very good part in it. But it is also a beautiful love story about what happens to two characters from the same line of work and how much misunderstanding is created by people who are supposed to make that communication easier,” Arjun Rampal said at an event.

The 39-year-old actor added that he likes the realism that director Madhur Bhandarkar has lent to his character.

“It's going to be a Madhur Bhandarkar film which deals with a lot of layers of reality and that's what I enjoy doing. I like all my characters to have a certain level of realism. I hope to portray it with conviction and not in a caricaturist manner,” said the actor who has won the National Award for his performance in Rock On.

In Heroine, Kareena Kapoor plays an actress who touches the heights of fame and then falls from glory. The film is expected to release in September 2012. Earlier, Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor has worked in the film We Are Family.
