Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara named the Best Film at Apsara Awards

Apsara Awards: Ranbir Kapoor and Vidya Balan win Best Actor awards
Vidya Balan and Ranbir Kapoor continued their winning streak on Wednesday night at the Apsara Awards at Yash Raj Studios when the duo scooped up the Best Actor awards for their performances in The Dirty Picture and Rockstar respectively.

Zoya Akhtar won the Best Director trophy and was in for a double treat as her film Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara won the Best Film award as well.

The evening saw scintillating on-stage performances by a host of Bollywood stars. But the pick of the lot was the performance by the soon-to-wed Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza, apart from the finale act by Shahrukh Khan.

Kareena Kapoor performed on a medley of south Indian hits such as ‘Nakka Mukka’, ‘Ringa Ringa’ and the chartbuster ‘Kolaveri Di’.

Amisha Patel danced to recent hit item numbers like ‘Chikni chameli’, ‘Ooh La La’ and ‘Madhubala’. Anushka Sharma took the stage to groove with popular telly actors.

In the end, Shahrukh Khan gave the show a befitting grand finale act, styled around recent hit Don 2.

The Apsara Awards were hosted by Farah Khan and Karan Johar.
