If you compare me with Amitabh Bachchan, I will fail: Hrithik Roshan

How often does one see the cast and crew of a film celebrating its success on the day after its release? But Agneepath has opened to such a thunderous start at box office, that its actors and director and producer organized a success bash at Mumbai’s Yash Raj Studios on Friday.

The film’s lead actor Hrithik Roshan, who was weighed down by a mountain of expectations, can now heave a sigh of relief, but he is, furthermore, screaming out loud with excitement. He has been praised for not trying to imitate Amitabh Bachchan and come up with his own performance as Vijay Dinanath Chauhan.

“You can't compare (me with Amitabh Bachchan). If you start comparing, I will fail in a second. I feel people are not saying that I have done as well (as Amitabh Bachchan), but I think what they are saying is I have done well in my way and they are cheering for me,” said Hrithik.

The actor gave a lot of credit to his co-stars Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor.

“It all became possible because I standing on the shoulders of the giants,” Hrithik Roshan said while pointing towards Sanjay Dutt and Rishi Kapoor.

Hrithik also went on to say that the credit for the movie’s success goes to the entire Agneepath team.

“I feel blessed. I think this is what we live for. I am on centrestage but it's a victory for the entire team so I am representing all people - the light boys, the staff, the writers, music directors, the director, everybody is a part of this joy,” he said.

Agneepath has already set a new box office record on its opening day. Trade pundits expect that the film might set another record for the opening weekend collections. We’ll keep you updated on that.
