Box office report: 'Ekk Deewana Tha' flounders, 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' holds its ground!

The new Bollywood release Ekk Deewana Tha has opened to a very dull response at theatres. On the other hand, the last week’s release Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is still holding its ground.

Ekk Deewana Tha, directed by Gautham Menon and starring Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson, saw meagre footfalls on the opening day, with the response varying between 5 percent and 10 percent. The occupancy was dismally low and the film’s prospect of a turnaround at the box office looks bleak as well. Moreover, the critics haven’t endorsed the movie.

The response to the new Hollywood releases Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance and The Woman In Black hasn’t been much positive either. Both the movies started on a slow note at Indian box office on Friday.

Meanwhile, the last week’s release Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, is holding its ground well. The film rounded off its first week run at box office with an approximate collection of Rs. 32 crore. It is likely to add another 10 to 15 crores in its kitty in the second week.

The next week would see the release of two movies: Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, starring Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza, and Jodi Breakers starring Bipasha Basu and Madhavan.
