The film industry is image driven: Aditi Rao At The Event
Aditi Rao Hydari's journey from a miniscule role in Delhi 6 to the lead in her forthcoming release London, Paris, New York, has not been easy. The actress says she has realised that the industry is image driven and that she wants to avoid that.

"Now I have realised that the industry is image driven. Supporting roles are very beautifully written, but supporting character is a window into the life," she told IANS.

"But in a lead role you get to show so much emotions, sorrow, pain everything and you get to live a life which is very satisfying. I sing and dance and all and I get an opportunity to do this only in a lead role. I always wanted to do that. Here is where I want to be," she added.

Aditi Rao Hydari wants to stick to lead roles only.

"I would like to do lead roles. I don't like to make that difference as I would not like the industry to slot me into anything.

"I feel that I don't want that opportunity to be taken away from me. If I keep accepting second lead roles, then I will be slotted. I don't what this to happen. I feel that I can give a lot to the lead role. I am getting some good offers," she said.

Directed by the debutant Anu Menon, "London Paris New York" will see Aditi Rao Hydari romancing Pakistani actor Ali Zafar when it hits the screens March 2.

Bagging a lead role was not easy, said Aditi, adding, "I just hoped for nice things to happen and somehow it happened. Coincidentally Goldie (producer Goldie Behl) saw one of my shots from Yeh Saali Zindagi and he told my manager that I want her in my next film."

For the first time Aditi will be seen dancing on big screen.

"I have been dancing since I was five years old. I have learnt Kalaripayut. I have danced in the film, but it's little quirky. I started dancing on my own steps and they said we will give you five to six cameras do whatever you feel like. I enjoyed that."

She plays a very idealistic and judgmental role in "London, Paris, New York".
