Box office update: 'Ekk Deewana Tha' flops!

Looks like all the PDA Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson indulged in has come to nought, for their film Ekk Deewana Tha has flopped at box office.

The movie, directed by Gautham Menon, opened to a depressingly low response on Friday and failed to pick up over the remaining days of the weekend. It’s tally for the weekend stands at Rs. 2.75 crore. The business didn’t pick much on Monday which was a holiday due to Maha Shivratri. The sadder thing is: the film hasn’t fared well at the box office abroad as well.

Unless a miraculous turnaround pulls audiences in droves to theatres, the movie is expected to finish its lifetime business at around Rs. 5 crore. Which makes it a FLOP.

On the other hand, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, starring Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor, continued to pull the crowds in its second week. The film’s ten-day collection now stands between Rs 37 and 38 crore. Which is a decent figure.

The coming Friday sees the release of two romantic comedies: Jodi Breakers, starring Bipasha Basu and Madhavan and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya, starring Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza.
