Will Katrina Kaif make time for 'Seeta Aur Geeta'?

The roadblock for what could be the most challenging role for Katrina Kaif has been cleared. The feuding Sippys have kissed and made up, paving the way for the remake of their 1972 blockbuster Seeta Aur Geeta.

The movie had Hema Malini playing a double role -- a meek and docile Seeta and the feisty and kickass Geeta. The character contrasts were a challenge for Hema Malini who pulled off the role with flying colours.

Katrina Kaif has often spoken about Hema Malini’s performance with admiration and expressed her desire to reprise that role in the movie’s modern remake which was very much on the cards until a feud broke out in the Sippy family over the film’s remake rights.

Seeta Aur Geeta was produced by G P Sippy and directed by Ramesh Sippy in 1972. Last year, when Sascha and Shaan Sippy (grandsons of G P Sippy) announced the remake, an objection was raised by their uncle Suresh Sippy. There was a family feud over the remake rights, and without boring you further with the nitty-gritty of the spat, we hear that the Sippys have finally ironed out their differences and decided to go ahead with the remake of Seeta Aur Geeta.

The news would thrill Katrina Kaif no end, but it remains to be seen if she will take out time from her chockfull dates diary.

Katrina Kaif, as we have already informed you earlier, is presently shooting for Yash Chopra’s comeback film with Shahrukh Khan in London. After that she has got Dhoom 3 with Aamir Khan. Surely, she can’t put that one on the backburner.
