The new releases of this Friday failed to bring any respite from the lull that has been pervading at the box office since the last two weeks. London, Paris, New York and Paan Singh Tomar opened to a dull response.
Even though the critical reviews were skewed in favour of Paan Singh Tomar, it was London, Paris, New York that stole the march, albeit marginally, at box office and registered a response of 10 to 15 percent. The chemistry between the film’s leading pair Ali Zafar and Aditi Rao Hydari has been appreciated by the moviegoers.
On the other hand, Paan Singh Tomar saw a meagre response of 5 to 10 percent on the opening day even though the collections picked up slightly by the evening. Given the fact that the critics have given their thumbs-up to the film, with a praise reserved for its leading man Irrfan Khan, the collections might pick up further on Saturday and Sunday.
The other two releases Will You Marry Me? and Diary of a Butterfly hardly found any takers.
Meanwhile, among the last week’s releases Jodi Breakers has turned out to be a flop while Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya has fared decently. In fact, the film’s cast and crew celebrated it’s box office success on Friday.
