Rajinikanth pays a surprise visit to Amitabh Bachchan in Chennai

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was taken by surprise when the south megastar Rajinikanth paid him a surprise visit in his hotel room in Chennai.

Amitabh Bachchan was in Chennai for the opening ceremony of IPL 5. It was during Big B’s stay in the hotel that Rajinikanth dropped by to say hello to his longtime friend and inquire about his health (Amitabh underwent two surgeries a few weeks back).

"Rajnikanth came over to meet me in the room of my hotel much against my wishes - I had wanted to go to his place but... always a pleasure," Amitabh posted on his blog bigb.bigadda.com.

On his twitter page, the superstar added that Rajinikanth looked in good health.

“Rajnikant pays me visit in my room ! Looks recovered from his recent illness..thank God ! Always a delight to spend time with him !” Big B wrote.

Amitabh Bachchan, 69, and Rajinikanth, 61, have worked together in films like Andha Kanoon, Giraftaar and Hum. The two have been friends for decades. Rajini had once called Amitabh his “role model” while Amitabh had said that he is deeply impressed by Rajinkanth’s “simplicity, honesty, and down-to-the-earth nature”.
