Karan Johar’s next film 'Student of The Year' coming out in October

Karan Johar's 'Student of The Year' to release Oct 19
Filmmaker Karan Johar's Student of The Year is set hit the theatres Oct 19 this year.

Co-produced by Johar's Dharma Productions and Shahrukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment, the film will launch three new faces in the B-town -- Alia Bhatt, who is the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt, David Dhawan's son Varun Dhawan, and model-turned-actor Siddharth Malhotra -- in prominent roles.

It is the first time that Johar is working with an all-new cast and is said to be excited about working with the new bunch of actors, because it reminds him of his initial days in the industry.

"Karan's been shooting in Bangkok for the past several weeks now and he's expected to return sometime in the first week of May. He's extremely excited to work with a bunch of newcomers and had been talking about their young energetic vibe, reminding him of his own days as a newcomer," a source said.

Karan Johar's last directorial venture was My Name Is Khan in 2010.
