Salman Khan will soon be back as Prem on the silver screen. Director Sooraj Barjatya, who gave the actor his maiden hit Maine Pyaar Kiya and his first blockbuster Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, is donning the director’s hat after a hiatus for the film tentatively titled Bade Bhaiyya starring Salman as the main hero.
There was a strong buzz that Salman is approached by Sooraj Barjatya for a film, but there was no news as to when it’s going to roll. Now the reports have it that Salman Khan’s next film with Sooraj Barjatya is all set to go on the floors early next year. Following the banner’s tried and tested formula, the film is apparently titled Bade Bhaiyya, where Sallu plays the titular role, and in keeping with the Rajshri tradition, his character will be called Prem.
Salman Khan has stayed away from the family drama for quite some time, and continued doing hardcore action masala films. As a source tells a tabloid, “Salman will play the character of the elder brother that was traditionally done by Mohnish Behl in the films by the banner.”
It’s also learnt that the Barjatyas were reportedly upset with the black buck hunting case, involving Salman Khan, during the shooting of their film in Jodhpur and consequently, stopped working with him. Sallu returned to the Barjatya banner in 2010 with a cameo in the romantic film Isi Life Mein.
Well, now the question is who will be cast opposite Salman in the film? The director is yet to finalize the cast, but the sources add that the film, which is going to be a musical, will feature a number of familiar faces from the banner’s previous films.
