Kuly of music band RDB passes away!

Kuly, the soul musician and the singer of the hip-hop bhangra band RDB passed away on 22nd May 2012 in Houston, Texas, USA. He died of cancer at the age of 35.

Kuly was one of the troika of RDB (Rhythm, Dhol, Bass), comprising of the three UK brothers that shot to fame in 2003 after winning the “Best Club DJ Bhangra” at UK Music Awards. Kuly, the singer and musician, was diagnosed with a brain tumour in April 2011 and underwent radio and chemotherapy. He was receiving treatment at a specialised clinic in Houston at the time of his death.

The fans of RDB are saddened by the premature death of the musician and a lot of condolence messages have been posted on the band’s Facebook page.

RDB also has many fans in India, including in Bollywood. The band has sung songs for a few Akshay Kumar films, songs like “Singh Is King” and “Shera Ki Kaum Punjabi”.

Obviously grieved by Kuly’s death, Akshay Kumar wrote on Twitter: “Just heard about Kuly from RDB's sudden demise. Still reeling from the shock of the news. Such a talented guy, was behind some awesome chartbusters for many of my films. My heartfelt condolences to the RDB family. RIP Kuly.”

Sameera Reddy, another fan, expressed her shock over Kuly’s death.

“Shocked to hear RDB 's heart and soul Kuly has left us :( My deepest condolences to Manj Surj & family,” she wrote.

With the passing away of Kuly, RDB and the family have asked that their privacy is respected at this very difficult time and thank their fans and well-wishers for their continued support and condolences.
