It’s confirmed! Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor will get wed on October 16. Sharmila Tagore has confirmed the news and says that it’s going to be a quiet affair with friends and family in attendance.

Earlier, too, Sharmila Tagore had made a statement that Saif and Kareena would wed as soon ‘as the weather improves’. Now, the veteran actress is quoted as confirming the wedding date, “Yes, that’s the date (October 16) we have decided upon. There will be a reception, too, but not a very big one.”

It’s reported that the wedding, which will be held at the Pataudis’ ancestral home, will only be attended by immediate family members of the couple. Since Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi died recently, the family is not keen on big celebrations; instead a low-key wedding is on the cards. Kareena and her family too have agreed to it. However, a large reception bash in Mumbai with who’s who of the industry cannot be ruled out, considering both Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor have many friends in Bollywood.

Sources further claim that the couple will have to wait for their honeymoon as Kareena Kapoor doesn’t want her films to suffer. Right after she completes Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine, she’ll start shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s tentatively titled film Ram Leela with Ranveer Singh.

The rumours on Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor’s marriage started trending when reports of Kareena’s wedding trousseau to be designed by the ace designer Ritu Kumar started doing the rounds. Kareena Kapoor is expected to be dressed like a royal bride on her W-day.
