Love across three generations! The movie Teri Meri Kahaani is not about punarjanam nor pichle janam ka pyaar. Director Kunal Kohli clears the air, saying his movie starring Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra is not based on reincarnation, and also has no similarities with Shahid’s previous release Mausam, which too showed lovers in three different timelines.
Some industrywallahs were talking about how Shahid’s upcoming film Teri Meri Kahaani seems quite similar to his last release Mausam - a box office dud. These loose talks in some parts of B-town haven’t pleased either Shahid Kapoor or Kunal Kohli.
As a source is quoted as saying, “Ever since the promos of Teri Meri Kahaani went on air and it was revealed that the film was about three generations and a love story traversing through it, there were gossip mongers who started spreading rumours around it being influenced by Mausam.”
Director Kunal Kolhi refutes such rumours and, without revealing much about the film, says Teri Meri Kahaani is about soulmates. “Like in India we say 'janmon ke saathi', in West they call such lovers soul-mates. But then again, before you jump to conclusions, my film has nothing to do with reincarnation either,” Kunal talks about his romance drama.
According to Kunal, the concept of punarjanam is very old-fashioned and anachronistic. His team had an entirely different packaging for Teri Meri Kahaani, and that is a secret till the movie releases. Teri Meri Kahaani has Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra playing lovers in three time periods - 1910, 1960 and 2012.
