Aamir Khan did it through his television show Satyamev Jayate. Now Ajay Devgan and wife Kajol are set to appear in a short film on female foeticide. Bollywood’s surely taking its social responsibilities seriously.
Ajay and Kajol will appear in a short film on female foeticide, being made as part of Maharashtra government's initiative to tackle the issue. The couple are brand ambassadors for the state government's Save the Girl Child campaign since last year. They will most likely start shooting by July this year.
“We are working on the script at the moment and should be ready to roll it within a month or so. Both Kajol and I will be part of this, and we will speak about female foeticide,” Ajay Devgan said in a statement in Mumbai.
Female foeticide is a scourge of modern India and is prevalent both in rural and urban areas, in both rich and poor sections of the society, as was exposed by Aamir Khan in his telly show Satyamev Jayate.
Kajol says she really believes in the issue and hopes to make a difference in whatever way she can.
Ajay Devgan and Kajol have a daughter and son named Nysa and Yug respectively. The couple also featured together in the movie U Me Aur Hum, which was about a family torn by Alzheimer’s disease.
