Rajinikanth, Mahesh Babu and director Shankar in awe of ‘Eega’ (Naan Ee)

Not only the masses but also the stars have liked the latest Telugu release Eega (The Fly), dubbed as Naan Ee in Tamil. The movie is minting money at the box office, and the actors of the film are showered with praise by the stalwarts.
Superstar Rajinikanth made time to watch this action thriller laced with special effects and live action animation and he personally called the movie’s actor Sudeep to congratulate him on the performance. Not only Rajinikanth, Telugu star Nagarjuna too has praised Sudeep for his acting in Eega.
Overwhelmed by the response, Sudeep tweeted “…having Raijinikanth sir and Nagarjuna sir calling and appreciating my work….I’m really blessed. Thanks Rajamouli sir for making all this happen”. Director Shankar, known for making larger-than-life movies, is also in complete awe of Eega. He saw the movie in Devi theatres and wrote in the visitors’ book of the theater that the movie was ‘superb’.
Dookudu star Mahesh Babu also can’t stop raving about the film. He tweeted, “Eega will stand out as 1 of d greatest films ever made in the Telugu film industry. Take a bow ssrajamouli:)congratulations to the entire team...” He later added, “A special mention needs 2b made for sudeep's performance...outstanding!!! (sic).”
Directed by S.S. Rajamouli, the movie Eega is a socio-fantasy film which released worldwide in Tamil and Telugu on July 6 with 1,200 prints. The response to the film at the BO is tremendous. Seeing the movie’s opening collections of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday it can be easily called one of the biggest hits of the year. The collections of Eega now stand at Rs. 11.31 crore in Andhra Pradesh alone.
Before the release of the film, Bollywood filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma predicted that Eega would start the club of Rs. 100 crore movies in Telugu. Replying to RGV, Rajamouli wrote, “@RGVzoomin sir, first thing first! Your first tweet is completely ignored!!! And I will never forget your encouragement & pushing & nudging (sic).”
