|Though not rising to record breaking height at Indian box office, the new Batman movie The Dark Knight Rises nonetheless registered a fairly good opening weekend.
The film by director Christopher Nolan has got mixed reviews from critics but did manage to attract footfalls to multiplexes at major centres, including Delhi and Mumbai. The response in Mysore was particularly good, with the film raking in Rs. 2.30 crore net.
The first weekend earning of The Dark Knight Rises stands around Rs. 16.75 crore in India. This is the fourth highest figure for a Hollywood release in India. The top spot is enjoyed by The Amazing Spider-man which smashed previous box office records of opening weekend for a Hollywood movie.
Meanwhile, Cocktail, released the previous week, notched up a decent collection of Rs. 63.50 crore in its ten-day’s run at theatres. The film is a hit and its cast and crew already had a success bash a few days back.
Bol Bachchan is on the cusp of entering the 100 crore club. Currently into its third week, the film has so far raked in Rs. 98.66 crore at box office. It is expected to enter the club in the coming days.
This Friday would see the release of Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum, starring Tusshar Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh, Neha Sharma and Sarah Jane Dias.
