|It takes balls to spoof Bollywood’s biggest and most influential superstar Salman Khan, but then Anurag Kashyap is nothing if not audacious.
Buzz is that Kashyap has spoofed Salman Khan in his upcoming film Gangs of Wasseypur 2, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Huma Qureshi and Zeeshan Quadri. It’s Quadri who reportedly plays a character named Definite, one of the sons of Manoj Bajpai.
Definite is shown to have many shades of Salman Khan. To begin with, he copies Salman’s hair style from the film Tere Naam. He also mouths dialogues from some of Salman’s famous films, including Maine Pyaar Kiya. If any doubt was left, Zeeshan even has the same body language as Salman Khan, thereby completing the parody.
It’s no secret that Anurag Kashyap previously blasted Salman and his brother Arbaaz Khan on the internet, even though he later clarified that he did so out of misunderstanding and after downing a few drinks.
Though it is being speculated that Kashyap has deliberately spoofed Salman Khan in Gangs Of Wasseypur 2 to get even with the star for the ouster of his brother Abhinav Kashyap from Dabangg 2, we think that Kashyap is too much a stickler for cinema to let his film become a whip for someone he despises. Rather, we think if Salman is indeed spoofed, it must have been the requirement of the character.
‘Gangs of Wasseypur 2’ will hit the screens on August 10.
